About the event
Join the Des Plaines Lions Club on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm to make brown bug lunches for unhoused individuals in Chicagoland. We will meet at AMA Academy of Performing Arts to make sandwiches and pack each brown paper bag with a hearty lunch.
AMA Academy of Performing Arts, located in Des Plaines, created an in-house charity that is dedicated to making brown bag lunches for Chicagoland’s unhoused community. The Loving Lunches initiative was founded by Ann Marie Frank, Owner of AMA Academy of Performing Arts, as a way to give back to her community during the uncertain times of the Covid-19 pandemic. 320 Lunches are made each week and delivered directly to Chicagoland’s unhoused! Loving Lunches made it's 100,000 lunch on May 10, 2025 with the help of countless volunteers.
